The fifth Parking Advisory Committee meeting was held on March 13, 2003 at 3:30 PM in room A171 at Bourns Hall.
There was no attendance at the public comment period.
It was recommended and approved that the Committee meet only once a month instead of twice a month and that the public comment period be scheduled every other month.
The request of the Career Center for two additional parking spaces for their clientele in Lot 15 was approved.
Discussion of night parking was continued and a vote was taken. The Committee recommended that faculty, staff and graduate students enrolled in the alternative transportation program be given the option of either an alternative transportation (AT)card, or free night parking. The permit will be given as a “pilot” program only during Summer and Fall Quarters of 2003.
Jan Martin discussed impending Campus Capital construction projects and the impacts (parking loss) to campus parking. The Cal-Trans freeway widening and interchange projects and the anticipated affect on the campus were also discussed. Schematics of the freeway projects and campus maps denoting proposed changes were provided for Committee review.
The next meeting is scheduled for April 10, 2003.
